Aw! Good for you to continue on despite your teacher's discouraging ways. This looks delicious!

Even on it's worst day, a Shepherds Pie deserves more than 4 out of 10!
The first time I entered a cake decorating competiton in year 5, I came second. I was chuffed with that, until I found out I was disqualified from first place as the organisers would not belive I had done it all myself.
Don't let the haters win, I say! I give you 10 out of 10 for your pie :)

With a teacher like that I'm surprised you kept cooking at all. She sounds like she was well beyond her retirement years. A four out of 10. Well...I guess it's only up from there. Beautiful looking shepherd's pie - I love a home cooked family meal like that.

love your cute story :D I missed home ec during school which was a huge shame...I as in the middle of changing schools and the previous school did it the year after I left and the new school did it the year before I got there. :( That is the start of my bad cooking...
I reckon if i did it at school, I may have started cooking properly at home.

I love shepherds pies, one of my favorite comfort foods :D

That looks like the ultimate comfort dish. I love that you've been making it so very long. It shows just how dear this dish is to you. ;)

I definitely miss the simpler days when the most I worried about was handing in my homework and assignments on time!

And apart from evoking long-buried memories, I bet that shepherd's pie offers a whole lot of comfort of another type.

Dear Jasmyne,

Regardless of your teacher, I think your pie look terrific and delicious. Well done!

Juliana

Jasmyne, I am glad that you did not give up...the Shepherd's pie looks delicious, very comforting.
Hope you are having a fantastic week :-)
